How to see the good in the bad

When there seems to be a lot of things niggling away at you. When you seem to be bumping up against yourself and when things just aren’t going to plan. When you feel stuck in a place where you seem to only be able to focus on what’s wrong, what you haven’t got, what you haven’t achieved...I challenge you to make a list of 10 Things That Are Good About This Situation.


As humans we automatically see the negative. We have to bring conscious awareness to the positive of a situation in order to see more of the positive and appreciate it.

This means, it doesn’t JUST happen.


There isn’t a magical moment where you have completely transformed your thinking and now life is going to be perfect from this point onwards.


How often do you look at someone and think, “Wow, they have such a positive outlook, they are so confident, they’ve got it all figured out.”


I want to let you in on a secret...


They worked hard to get that mindset, they also work on MAINTAINING it.


Growth is a journey. It’s a life long learning experience.

The things we want we get because we work towards them, like healthy thought patterns or tangible goals. So much (unnecessary) frustration and suffering comes from sitting and waiting for the Universe to deliver.


You have to meet life half way.


All the time.


Not just today...every day.


The people who appear to have it all together and maintain a strong mindset have been through the biggest challenges and experienced the biggest breakthroughs, because they went to that place.

They faced the hard stuff and they forced themselves to do the good stuff (that for some reason we feel isn’t as much of a priority, right?) and to quote my favourite book, they “did the thing, and had the power.”
